Film-Making and Developing Local Film-Makers - A Dialogue with Mal Watson

Sunday, May 2

Producer of "Travellers and Magicians" (2003)
& Co-Producer of "The Cup" (1999)

Mon, 10 May 2004, 7.30pm
Blue Room, The Substation

45 Armenian Street Singapore 179936

Mal Watson made cinema history in 2002 when he produced "Travellers and Magicians". Mal and more than 108 cast and crew from Bhutan, Australia, Germany, India, Canada and America came together to work with award-winning film-maker Khyentse Norbu, on the first feature film to be made in Bhutan. "Travellers and Magicians" was shot entirely in the tiny kingdom, bringing professionals from Hollywood, Bollywood, Canada and Australia and paired them with Bhutan¹s own budding film-makers, giving them the experience and inspiration to produce their own large-scale feature films in future. For production notes and reviews, please visit www.travellersandmagicians.com.

Mal has worked full time in film-making since 1990, mainly in India, Bhutan and Canada.

Director of "Travellers and Magicians" and "The Cup", Khyentse Norbu will be present at the dialogue.
